About the role
This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Knowledge of the Department of War (DoW) Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) to include the Joint Mission Essential Task List (JMETL) development processes, the Universal Joint Task List (UJTL), and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) Joint Doctrine System. Knowledge of the Joint Training Tool (JTT) and Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS) to implement exercise resourcing and management, identifying best practices, and correcting deficiencies revealed from exercises and events in which the agency participates. Knowledge of US national strategy to include the DoD Strategy to Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD), CWMD plans, programs, intelligence, doctrine, policy and USG actors to include OSW, Joint Staff, CCMDs, Military Services and the Service components of CCMDs, and Defense/Combat Support Agencies. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to prepare and present major staff studies, fact sheets, and executive-level decision briefs, as well as to articulate and negotiate complex issues with senior leadership and external partners. Ability to develop and provide training, consultation, and ongoing assistance to personnel at all levels on the Joint Training Tool, exercise management, JMETL development, and the use of associated reporting systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
