Coordinating the recruitment and retention of prospective student athletes including prospect evaluation, prospect selection, off campus evaluation, on and off campus visits, and contacts (phone calls, letters, e-mail, etc.)
Assisting with the mentoring of student athletes to foster athletic, academic, emotional, and social growth; assist Head Coach in establishing and enforcing rules of conduct and team policies
Gathering, preparing, and presenting scouting materials
Assisting with the organization and planning for home events, practice planning, skill development of student athletes, and game day strategy
Assisting with the organization and planning of team travel and the purchasing, inventory, care, and storage of equipment
Assisting with the planning, organization, execution, and staffing of sport camps
Coordinating visiting team requests, such as practice, hotel accommodations, meals, etc.
Assisting with former athlete and alumni relations
Assisting with the compilation and maintenance of statistical information
May independently supervise student managers, volunteer coaches, and other ancillary personnel
When required, represent Head Coach at intercollegiate athletics, alumni, and University events
Assisting with the oversight and management of booster clubs and team and athletic fundraising efforts
Assisting with the management and response to media requests
Adhere to University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations
Requirements
Collegiate playing or coaching experience.
Experience with recruiting and talent evaluation.
Familiarity with video analysis platforms and recruiting databases.
CPR/AED certification.
Strong knowledge of softball fundamentals, skill development, and game strategy.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy and to fostering a positive student‑athlete experience.
