Masters Degree or Honours Degree in Sociology or equivalent. If vacancies remain, students enrolled in an Honours Program (completed 15 or more credits) in Sociology or equivalent* (with an 80% average or higher) will be considered.
Completion of the course for which the applicant wishes to be a teaching assistant with a final grade of 75% or higher in that course (or equivalent*)
Ability to prioritize work and meet stipulated deadlines, recognizing that there are periods of intensive work associated with the position.

Benefits
Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $ 23.30 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 202 6 )Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $ 36.67 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 202 6 )In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant's duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
