Join us as a Managing Quantity Surveyor As a Managing Quantity Surveyor at Schindler, you will lead the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality elevator and escalator solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost control, contract administration, and commercial risk management, supporting the business in achieving its financial and operational objectives Job description: Allocate workloads, set clear objectives, and monitor team performance to ensure project and business goals are met Oversee the commercial management of projects, ensuring accurate cost control, forecasting, and reporting Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders regarding commercial and contractual matters Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant UK legislation (e.g., NEC, JCT contracts) Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members Foster a collaborative and positive team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional development Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and project delivery Resolve disputes and manage conflict within the team or with external parties Report regularly to senior management on team performance, project status, and commercial risks Support the professional development of team members Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans Profile description: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline Chartered status with RICS or equivalent professional body is highly desirable Significant experience in a senior quantity surveying role, preferably within the construction or building services sector Proven track record of managing commercial aspects of complex, high-value projects. Strong knowledge of contract law, standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT), and commercial procedures Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills Proficient in the use of relevant software and IT systems Proven track record of operational QS know-how within the Construction industry managing multiple multi-million-pound projects and service contracts to successful completion Technical expert, role holder will be educated to at least BSc or equivalent full technical standard. Demonstrate experience of estimating project costs, and presenting high quality tender documents to customers Demonstrate experience of managing Health & Safety compliance including CDM requirements Preferably a minimum of 10 years' experience operating at a senior level within the commercial environment in the building construction and/or maintenance industry. Knowledge of key Pre-construction procedures, e.g., Procurement, Planning and Contracts. Demonstrate IT literacy capability including full literacy with Microsoft Office suite
