The Security Manager is responsible for the safety and security of guests, clients, and team members of the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC). Supervision: Direct supervision/management of team members Position Title(s) of Direct Report(s): N/A Physical Requirements: Considerable mental and physical effort Travel Percentage (%): 10% ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Determine all components of appropriate staffing levels for events up to and including internal and contract security duties. Manage approving security plans and ensuring staffing is executed according to plans. Responsible for managing high-profile site visits and capable of coordinating with Local, Federal and State Law Enforcement Entities as required. Responsible for reviewing Momentus actuals, preparing and overseeing post-show notes and event recap documentation, ensuring contractors are compliant with certificate of insurance (COI) records, supporting recruitment and hiring efforts, and ensuring operational readiness for conventions, trade shows, entertainment events, VIP visits, and special events. Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all logs and incident reports generated during events. Conduct internal investigations when necessary. Ensure that day-to-day security operations is managed and a professional workplace is maintained. Event Security guidelines are current and up to date with State and ASM Security or City requirements. Conduct quarterly Event Manager and Security meetings on relevant topics to help support the events in addition to conducting yearly All Security Contractors meetings. Responsible for administering event emergency guidelines, procedures and training for team members, guests, and clients. Participates in the development of security training materials for all team members. Attends monthly campus meetings and liaison between local Law Enforcement. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess and maintain a valid CA/BSIS Guard Card. Must be able to oversee workflow and take proactive action to ensure the Security Department's performance goals. Must be able to represent ASM Global and LACC in an exemplary manner. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be able to exhibit leadership qualities, motivate/engage team members & lead by example. Effectively collaborate and resolve conflicts with others. Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate sound judgment in stressful, highly active situations. A good understanding of the security & guest services roles in a facility environment. Must be able to adapt to changes quickly and effectively. Must be able to create, implement, and present training materials and programs for all LACC team members. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) Must have reliable transportation.
