The project will focus on extending the C++ based HPX runtime (hpx.stellar-group.org) to orchestrate hybrid quantum classical and quantum-simulation workloads, enabling scalable quantum accelerated algorithms for scientific and engineering applications. The position offers a strong interdisciplinary environment, opportunities for collaborative publications, and the chance to build an independent research profile at the computational-physics interface. Job Responsibilities: Research and Development: Design and implement HPX extensions that schedule quantum kernels on remote quantum processors alongside classical tasks. Develop C++ libraries and APIs that expose quantum circuit execution, error mitigation, and data movement. Benchmark hybrid workloads. (65%) Collaboration: Work with faculty, students, and external partners on interdisciplinary initiatives aimed at applications in quantum computing; contribute to joint problem-solving and co-mentorship of graduate students.
