Perform complete setups on single‑spindle and multi‑spindle screw machines for a wide variety of parts
Select tooling, cams, speeds, feeds, and attachments; plan proper operation sequences
Support production by resolving setup‑related issues impacting quality, cycle time, or output
Assist and mentor machine operators as needed
Collaborate with supervision to prioritize machine setups and optimize production schedules
Maintenance, Repair & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on screw machines, including spindles, slides, carriers, clutches, indexing systems, and feed mechanisms
Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
Repair or replace worn components such as bearings, gears, cams, bushings, shafts, and drive components
Minimize downtime by restoring equipment to safe operating condition
Rebuild & Technical Support
Disassemble, inspect, rebuild, and reassemble machines or sub‑assemblies
Support partial or complete Davenport machine rebuilds
Restore alignment and machine condition in accordance with manufacturer standards
Serve as a technical resource for screw machine capability and reliability improvements
Safety, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Follow all safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout and PPE requirements
Document setup changes, repairs, and parts usage
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Requirements
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Proven experience setting up screw machines on a variety of jobs
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and use precision measuring tools
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred
5+ years of hands‑on experience with Davenport or similar cam‑driven screw machines
Experience performing machine rebuilds
Background in a high‑volume precision machining environment
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to stand, bend, and work on machines for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Manufacturing environment with noise, moving machinery, oil, and lubricants
Willingness to work overtime or weekends as business needs require

Position Overview
