  • Work with outside contractors, utility crews (electrical and telephone) and other company departments to solve problems.
  • The ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics and to use the same in troubleshooting.
  • An understanding of small air compressor systems and associated instruments and controls.
  • A thorough working knowledge of motor starters (size 00-6) and their control systems. Ability to troubleshoot and correct problems as required. The ability to disassemble, clean, test, and reassemble a motor starter is required.
  • Possess an understanding of AC variable frequency drives, DC Drives, programmable logic controllers and the ability to diagnose problems and repair equipment, where feasible. A strong electronics background would be helpful. Experience with motor operated valves a plus.
  • Be familiar with emergency generators, transfer switches and 125 VDC battery systems.
  • Understand, and have a working knowledge of electronics and various instrumentation signals (4-20 MA, 1-5 VDC, tachometers, capacitance, radar, etc.) and the ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits.
  • An understanding of protective relays, switch gear operation, and synchronous motor control at 2400V and above would be beneficial.
  • A familiarity with satellite and radio communications equipment and S.C.A.D.A. systems is required.
  • Proficient in the use of all electrical trade hand tools including hand held power tools, threading machine, hole coring machine.
  • Be capable of working independently following written and verbal instructions.
  • Shall be required to respond to emergency situations during off hours and available for overtime on short notice.
  • The hourly rate of pay is $46.24.
