Carnegie Mellon University is a private, global research university internationally recognized for excellence in artificial intelligence, the performing arts, business, economics, and computer science. The Master of Science in Computational Finance (MSCF) program, consistently ranked among the top quantitative finance programs in the nation, is a collaboration among four Carnegie Mellon schools: the Tepper School of Business, the Mellon College of Science, the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Computer Science Department. The MSCF program seeks an Associate Director of Career Services for its New York City campus. This position plays a critical role in supporting MSCF students through individualized career coaching, employer engagement, alumni programming, and the development of high-impact career services initiatives. Core responsibilities include: Provide individualized career coaching to approximately 100 MSCF students, helping them define career goals, develop effective job-search strategies, strengthen interviewing and networking skills, and navigate offer evaluation and negotiation. Deliver industry-informed advising through one-on-one coaching sessions and group workshops. Develop and facilitate programming focused on resume preparation, interview techniques, networking, job-search, and experiential learning opportunities. Plan and implement annual career-related events, including alumni mock interviews, alumni career panels, employer presentations, networking events, and on-campus recruiting activities. Build and maintain relationships with employers through outreach initiatives, site visits, and targeted marketing campaigns to expand employment opportunities for students. Work closely with student leadership representatives; conduct monthly meetings and oversee the planning and execution of the Peer Mentorship Program. Partner with the Director of Alumni Relations to identify and implement new initiatives that strengthen alumni volunteer engagement, including Alumni Mentorship and Quant-in-Residence programs. Assess and enhance career services programming in response to evolving industry trends and employment markets. Collaborate with faculty, alumni, employers, and university partners to support student career outcomes. Perform additional duties as assigned.
