About the role
We've got an exciting opportunity for a Site Engineer to join our team in the heavy civil space on the Ō Mahurangi Penlink Alliance . This is a role for someone who likes being close to the action, solving problems on the ground, and helping deliver complex infrastructure that matters. You'll report to a Project Engineer and work alongside an experienced, down to earth team on major reinforced concrete works across structures such as bridges, wharves, water treatment plants, storage tanks, and pipelines. You'll be trusted to take ownership, build strong relationships with subcontractors, and help keep site activities moving safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. If you're based on the North Shore or north of Auckland, even better. Key role responsibilities Coordinate and oversee day to day site activities to keep works progressing smoothly. Plan and develop construction methodologies and work programmes that deliver on time and to specification. Identify and solve engineering issues quickly, practically, and safely. Manage procurement of materials and subcontractor services to support project delivery. Maintain quality control processes across the project life cycle. Support safe, efficient site operations and promote Fulton Hogan's safety-first culture. Build strong working relationships with subcontractors, site crews, and project stakeholders. Contribute to delivering Good Work on a major infrastructure project with serious standards and a strong team culture. We're looking for someone with A minimum of 3 years' post-graduate experience in heavy civil construction or major infrastructure projects. A tertiary qualification in civil engineering such as BE, NZCE, or Diploma. Strong planning skills, with the ability to develop construction methodologies and work programmes. Proven experience managing subcontractors and coordinating resources including materials, plant, and labour. A collaborative, team-focused approach and the confidence to build strong working relationships. Clear communication skills and a proactive, accountable attitude. A genuine interest in delivering complex civil structures safely and to a high standard. A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Civil Structures experience is a must!
