About the role
Entrada is a two-week residential academic experience for current high school seniors planning to attend Calvin University in the fall of their freshman year. The program is designed for students who believe education is a pathway to purpose and who are eager to grow in community with others from diverse backgrounds, stories, and perspectives while preparing to thrive at Calvin and beyond. Through college-level coursework, campus living, mentorship, and structured co-curricular programming, Entrada supports students' academic readiness, personal growth, spiritual development, and leadership formation during their transition to college. The Resident Director (RD) serves as a primary leader of the residential experience and is part of a team of two Resident Directors overseeing all residence hall functions for the Entrada Scholars Program. The RD provides vision, structure, and daily leadership for the residential community while ensuring a safe, supportive, and Christ-centered environment that fosters belonging, accountability, and growth. The RD is responsible for planning, leading, supervising, and evaluating all residence life initiatives connected to the program. This includes supervising a team of eight to nine Resident Assistants, supporting up to approximately 60 Entrada Scholars, coordinating community-building efforts, and partnering closely with academic and student support staff.
