Process Development and Optimization: Develop, refine, and implement manufacturing processes for injection, blow molding and reheat stretch machines.
Focus on enhancing efficiency, reducing cycle times, and minimizing waste while ensuring product quality.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify and resolve process-related issues promptly.
Use root cause analysis and other problem-solving methodologies to address challenges and implement corrective actions.
New Product Introduction: Support the introduction of new products by developing and validating processes that meet design specifications and quality standards.
Collaborate with R&D and production teams during the development phase.
Equipment Management: Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure that molding equipment is operating optimally.
Participate in equipment selection, installation, and validation processes.
Quality Assurance: Partner with the quality team to ensure all products meet or exceed customer and industry standards.
Develop and implement process control measures to maintain consistent quality.
Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed process documentation, including work instructions, process parameters, and performance metrics.
Prepare reports and presentations for management review.
Training and Development: Provide technical training and guidance to production staff and junior engineers on process operations, troubleshooting, and safety protocols.
Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in processing within the plastics industry, specifically with injection and blow molding processes.
Proficiency in PET, PP, HDPE processing techniques and equipment operation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
Master Mold Certification or ability to obtain Master Mold Certification within 18 to 24 months after starting position.
Working Conditions:
The role involves working in a manufacturing environment, requiring time on the production floor as well as in an office setting.
Occasional travel may be required for training or collaboration with other facilities.
