Our St. Thomas, Ontario plant ( North Star Windows and Doors ) is seeking a Team Leader to oversee daily glass shop operations in our windows and doors manufacturing facility. This role provides day-to-day supervision of the glass shop team on an assigned shift and is accountable for ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met or exceeded. The team consists of approximately 30-40 employees across two shifts operating on a biweekly rotation. Reporting directly to the Senior Team Leader, the Team Leader's responsibilities include: Supervision of the department to ensure manpower is appropriately assigned and trained to meet safety, productivity, and quality standards Monitoring of equipment to ensure it is properly set up and maintained in working order Conducting safety training, meetings, audits, and workplace inspection as required Conduct incident investigations and record findings as required (first aid cases, medical aids recordable incidents, near misses, etc.), ensuring root causes are identified and corrected promptly Maintaining appropriate personnel productivity, quality and attendance records Maintaining and continuously improving standards of housekeeping and maintenance within the department Ability to problem solve and manage line operations to meet productivity requirements despite daily challenges Manage Quality Scan Stations and discarding any units with defects In partnership with the Senior Team Leader and Human Resources, support performance management through constructive feedback, coaching, and formal actions when necessary, ensuring alignment with company policies Lead by example in collaborating across functions to achieve shared goals and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture Participate in ongoing leadership development and training opportunities to build skills and capability Other duties as required to ensure that business needs are met Prior experience in manufacturing environment required (windows and doors experience an asset) Previous experience working with glass in a manufacturing environment is a strong asset Previous supervisory or leadership experience required, or demonstrated clear progression showing readiness for a leadership role Proven leadership in a safety-sensitive environment, with accountability for enforcing health and safety standards and protecting the health and safety of team members Strong people skills with the ability to lead through clear direction and consistency Able to build solid working relationships and support a team-focused environment Ability to identify bottlenecks and take action to keep production moving and meet targets despite daily pressures Good understanding of production processes and product within their area Working knowledge of equipment operation, setup, and basic maintenance Strong focus on quality and meeting production standards Continuous improvement mindset with a practical, hands-on approach Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality Reliable with a strong attendance record Willing and able to complete required training (Supervisory Skills, Health & Safety, First Aid) Must be able to work biweekly rotating shift schedule (Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM; Afternoon Shift: 3:45 PM - 1:15 AM), including overtime and Saturdays as required. The hourly compensation for this position ranges from $32.15 to $37.15. Final compensation will be commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.
