This National Guard position is for a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D0324000 and is part of the PA 193rd Special Operations Wing, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement. INDEFINITE Position may lead to permanent assignment without further advertisement. APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Non-Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at the 193rd SOW AOC 2: NG employees in the 193 Special Operations Wing (This includes 193rd RSG, 193rd AOG, 211th EIS, 271st CCS, 201st RHS, 112th ACS, 203rd Weather Flight, 193rd SOW Det 1, 148th ASOS, PA ANG HQ DET 1) AOC 3: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 4: All service members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (This includes Traditional Airmen, Temporary Technicians and AGR Personnel) AOC 5: Individuals who are currently serving in another branch of service who are willing to become members of the PANG TEMPORARY PROMOTION/REASSIGNMENT: Currently employed permanent technician selected will occupy this position as a Promotion not to exceed or Reassignment as appropriate in their present status. INDEFINITE: Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period. Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice. Manpower #L0975224 *NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Secret Security Clearance GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of mechanical maintenance work; ability to read and use technical manuals, illustrations, diagrams and schematics, and skill in the use of equipment and hand tools used in troubleshooting, testing and repairing equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate experience or training removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts, components, and accessories. Experience which provided working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to powered support equipment and systems; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments. Experience which provided working knowledge of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
