Requirements

• Education Level
• University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Fluent in host language, both written and spoken, fluent in respective translated language, both written and spoken
• Experience & Relevant Skills
• Native-level in Gaelic (Ireland) and English
• Good user experience of standard software, such as Windows and Office applications. Experience with CAT tools.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, linguists
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Fast learner, motivated, versatile
• If home based, ability to work with a remote team

NOTICE: For Privacy Policy please review here Job Responsibilities: Job Title Translator Department Language Group Reports To Translation Lead MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB Translator is a key position at Welocalize because of the fact that we, a localization company whose core business is software localization and technical translation, are "translating" IT products by a real meaning. About 40% of Welocalize staff hold this position and their performance decides the health of the company. Translator is also a position that brings up talents for other roles in the company, not only for language related jobs but also for management and business. MAIN DUTIES The following is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities and areas of ownership of a Translator: Translate content from a language into another with original meaning conveyed in a manner that is readable and understandable to target audience. Unless for localization purpose, translators shall not alter, add, or omit the meaning or true purpose of content. Meet requirements for matching the purpose when translating, regardless the requirements are internal or external, expressed or implicated ones. Especially, ensure the expressed customer requirements are followed exactly or handled properly. The requirements may be related to style, terminology, correctness, accuracy, fluency, readability, timeliness, availability, etc. whatever it is applicable. Take supportive tasks that are necessary to translation process. The example of such tasks includes maintaining glossary, coordinating with other translators, preparing evaluation reports, receiving and giving training, etc. Achieve excellence in technical translation by making continual improvements in capability and productivity. Performance Measures Daily productivity On time delivery Quality scores Overall Performance Translator's overall performance, including but not limited to one's attitude toward work, sense of responsibility, communication skills, team work spirit and attendance, will be appraised by Team Lead. Translators need to clearly and consistently meet expected performance results.
