About the role
Primary technical contact for OEMs & 1st Tier engineering to support the application of all automotive fuse products. Be the global bridge between customer, sales, project and product management, and engineering. Work with sales to identify new global opportunities for fuse products/projects for existing and new customers with visible NBOs/NDAs (NPPs). Support internal projects and initiatives through Phase 1 and 2, focusing on Type 2 projects. Assist with Type 1 project as needed, including initial PDS (Product Design Specification). Provide technical training (Fuseology) and automotive product update training to interested customers, authorized sales reps, and distributors. Good understanding about HEV/PHEV/EV structure especially battery protection and relative system and components. Work and learn on new Current Sensor,PPTC technologies mainly for High Voltage applications Become knowledgeable on OEM standards related to RFQs with main focus on design impacts. Conduct assessments of competitive products and maintain a database of competitors. Work actively on updating and expanding necessary simulation tools and WIKI data base. - Quarterly trend report related to assigned market (auto market development, low/medium/high current fuse market including competition and trends). - OEMs fuse approval state, checking drawing/specification release. Gather engineering data and requirements from customers and work with the product engineering team to provide cost effective solutions. Create data input sheets for cost models for high current Masterfuse projects. Generate data pool for assigned customers on car lines and models by investigating the fuse content in each box. Identify the fuse type, fuse supplier, and typical fuse content per box. Participate in trade shows, customer in-house technical exhibitions and standard committees. About You Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (e.g., Electrical/Electronics, Materials, Telecommunications, Mechanical Design, etc.) 5-10 years of experience in relevant product/technology protection within an automotive environment preferred Strong experience in customer interaction throughout product design and technical support processes Demonstrated resilience, self-motivation, and ability to work independently Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English #LI-AS1 At Littelfuse, we support employee growth and development.
