STV is seeking an organized, proactive, and technically strong Deputy Project Manager (DPM) to support the delivery of complex rail projects across the region. The DPM will play a key leadership role in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, supporting client communication, and ensuring that project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to established quality standards.
This individual will work closely with senior project managers and area leadership to support project execution for clients such as transit agencies, departments of transportation, and regional rail authorities.
Responsibilities
Project Delivery
Support the Project Manager in day-to-day oversight of rail/transit design or construction projects.
Manage project tasks, schedules, budgets, and documentation with a focus on accurate tracking and reporting.
Coordinate with engineering, planning, construction management, and specialty disciplines to ensure technical quality and timely deliverables.
Assist with preparation of project work plans, WBS development, fee tracking, and earned value reporting.
Participate in project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
Assist with risk identification, mitigation strategies, and issue resolution.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain clear communication with clients, subconsultants, and internal project partners.
Support the PM in preparation of presentations, status reports, and client updates.
Build positive working relationships with external stakeholders, including agencies, municipalities, and contractors.
Document & Quality Management
Ensure that deliverables meet STV's quality standards and contract requirements.
Support document control, design review coordination, and adherence to QA/QC procedures.
Business Development Support
Assist with proposal inputs, resumes, project descriptions, and other pursuit materials.
Support market sector leaders and PMs on strategy, scoping, and level-of-effort estimating.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
5-8 years of relevant experience in bridge, roadway, rail/transit, or transportation infrastructure.
Familiarity with design and/or construction processes for infrastructure, bridges, culverts, track or related disciplines.
Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment and travel for site visits as required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.
Experience supporting rail/transit agencies.
Experience with project controls, scheduling software (e.g., P6), or financial reporting.
Demonstrated ability to manage tasks independently with limited supervision.

Compensation Range:
$114,345.69 - $130,680.78
