Discovery Biotherapeutics at AbbVie is seeking a highly motivated research scientist to join our dynamic team supporting biologics drug discovery and multispecifics engineering. This position will contribute to projects through the discovery and engineering of biopharmaceutical products. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in antibody and multispecifics design and production, molecular biology, and have knowledge of antibody fragments and mimetics. Additional desirable skills include expertise in antibody engineering, protein purification, and familiarity with sequence analysis tools. The candidate should be able to analyze, document, and report data, possess excellent communication skills, and feel comfortable presenting in group settings. BS or MS in biology or related discipline with typically 7+ years (BS), or 5+ years (MS) of pharmaceutical and/or relevant experience Protein, biologics, fragments, and multi-specifics purification Mammalian cell culture for protein expression In vitro analytical techniques for protein characterization (e.g. SEC, MS, DSF) Strong molecular biology skills (e.g. molecular cloning) Familiarity with sequence analysis tools (Vector NTI, Geneious, Genedata) Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and the ability to execute on multiple projects simultaneously Team player capable of operating in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, adapting to rapid changes in project priorities and timelines Proficiency with software programs including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
