A High School Diploma or its equivalent AND four (4) years with municipal utility work or inspection activities (water, wastewater, and reclaimed water).
-OR- A two (2) year associate's degree AND two (2) years of related experience, including supervisor experience municipal utility work or inspection activities (water, wastewater, and reclaimed water).
-OR- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND one year of related work in a related field, including supervisor experience municipal utility work or inspection activities (water, wastewater, and reclaimed water).
-AND- One year of supervisory experience.
State of Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class "A" with Tanker "N" endorsement or the ability to obtain within six (6) months from the date of hire. (Paid for by the county!)
A valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire.
Preferred "BONUS" Qualifications:
Possess a Florida Department Environmental Protection (FDEP): Water Distribution System-Level 3, Drinking Water Treatment-Class C and or Wastewater Treatment-Class C Certification(s) from the State of Florida.
Possess a NASSCO-PACP, MACP & LACP Certification(s) and/or TREEO Backflow Prevention certification from the State of Florida.
Experience with Wastewater Collection System Cleaning, Televising, and Maintenance.
Physical Demands: May occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.

Job Description:
Organize, coordinate, and schedule daily and emergency activities and functions of assigned work crews.
Maintain, review, and summarize daily activity logs.
Review and monitor safety equipment, and instruct crews on proper work methods and correct safety procedures.
Train and develop staff on utilization of equipment and operations.
Utilize electronic devices and equipment with computerized programs and communication technologies for scheduling and time management relating to all work performed in a professional and timely fashion.
Interface with other units/core services and city officials in a professional and timely fashion.
Ensure compliance with county, state, and OSHA regulations.
Coordinate and ensure appropriate supply of work materials and store inventories.
Participate in hiring of staff, job descriptions, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
Participate in staffing and business planning efforts.
Assist with research for cost and oversee expenditures for the operations and equipment needed.
Ensure long-range maintenance plans and coordinate with outreach groups.
Coordinate and monitor vendor(s) contracts.
Assist in union negotiations.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. *On-Call Required
