Job Advert Senior MRI Radiographer Duchy Hospital, Truro Up to 37.5 hours per week As a Senior MRI Radiographer at Duchy Hospital, the opportunities to develop yourself, and the services we provide are abundant. As a hospital undertaking cardiac services, previous experience in Cardiac and Breast MRI is highly desirable as well as experience with Siemens MRI equipment. The service is currently running 8am to 6pm from Monday to Friday. As the service expands this is likely to change to involve longer days and weekends. There is a small commitment to MRI on-call from home on one Wednesday night per month, shared across the MRI team. We are looking for an experienced and motivated radiographer looking to progress and enhance their supervisory and clinical skills. Previous experience in MRI (min. 2 Years) is essential. The successful candidate must be willing to take part in our extended evening and weekend MRI service. This post may involve supporting the general X-ray dept in case of absence or low workload. The candidate will need to demonstrate experience and knowledge of all aspects of Radiology with an interest in service improvement to ensure the department continues to be progressive and efficient. You must be committed and willing to take on additional responsibilities, and you will be required to participate in the out of hour and 7 day working rota. The role will include supporting junior staff and contribute to the training of students, as well as resolving day to day issues related to workload management and patient queries. Main duties and responsibilities: Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice Supervise and develop junior colleagues Accountable for MRI safety in line with local rules To work within IRMER and own scope of practice, in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programme Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers, and Imaging Manager Ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose and, can report faults in line with Ramsay Health policy Competency in IV cannulation is essential Provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedural changes Comply with all Ramsay Health policies and procedures Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements Participate in on call rota (must be able to attend site within one hour of call activation) Where you'll be based: Duchy Hospital is Cornwall's only private hospital and has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare treatments and services. What you'll bring with you: Have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent) A postgraduate qualification and/or high levels of technical knowledge (desirable) Possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in a wide variety MRI scans (ideally including Cardiac, Small Bowel Enterography, mpMRI Prostate, Gynae, Breast, MSK) Have an understanding and empathetic approach to patients and staff alike Be respectful towards all individuals, including staff, patients and visitors Have a proactive and forward thinking approach to work Ensure a service of the highest quality care is delivered with sensitivity and compassion Demonstrate excellent communication and team working abilities Why join us?
