Valid Red Seal Ontario Certificate of Qualification and/or a valid Operating Engineering license
Previous experience working in plant operations

Competent in the use of building automation systems and preventative maintenance techniques
Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Job Description:
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for completing repairs to hospital facilities and equipment. Tasks are varied and could entail repair of dish machine, garburator, cartwash, pumps, fans, compressor, rotary equipment, piping systems, ground equipment, and diesel generators. Operation of hospital power plant including the heating, ventilation and air conditioning, medical gases, fire alarm and domestic hot water systems is an essential part of this position. Journeyman Tradesman/Plant operator is required to operate Building Automation System (BAS), perform water tests, diesel generator tests and efficiently operate chillers, boilers, cooling towers and the associated heating and cooling loops. From time to time Journeyman Tradesperson/Plant Operators may be required to perform such function as grass cutting, snow removing and others essential labour functions. You may be scheduled at the General or Birchmount campus based on departmental needs.
