2+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist OR Certification through the certifying body of the Association of Surgical Technologists, Inc.
AHA BLS Certification (or must be obtained within 2 months of hire)
Experience in obstetric or women's health surgical settings (preferred)
Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work independently

This position is a member of the Labor & Delivery surgical team and provides care to the patient during the peri-operative period of obstetric procedures . Possesses knowledge and understanding of the types of procedures performed in OB, including cesarean sections and postpartum surgeries , with appropriate use of surgical instrumentation. Arranges instrumentation to achieve maximum efficiency, anticipates the needs of the surgical team, maintains the integrity of the sterile field, and participates in surgical counts.
As a Surgical Technologist supporting our Labor & Delivery unit , you'll:
Prepare and arrange OB-specific surgical instruments and equipment for cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and assist the team in providing efficient and safe care.
Maintain a sterile field and follow aseptic technique.
Collaborate with OB/GYNs, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other team members to deliver patient-centered care.
Assist in patient transfer and post-op care with professionalism and compassion.
Participate in surgical counts and assist with specimen handling.
