Job Description
This role provides operational and analytical support to the Funding Manager in managing investment deals. It focuses on assisting with due diligence, coordinating approval processes, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the investment lifecycle. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Role Description / Key Performance Areas:
Investment Evaluation and Execution
Conduct preliminary screening and analysis of investment proposals
Develop and maintain accurate records of deal documentation and progress
Coordinate and support financial, commercial, and operational due diligence activities
Compile data and prepare initial analysis for review by the Funding Manager
Assist in preparing documentation for Investment Committee submissions
Ensure compliance with governance and approval protocols
Track deal progress across the pipeline and ensure timely execution in line with internal approval frameworks
Prepare draft reports on deal status and portfolio performance
Provide timely updates to the Funding Manager
Portfolio Management & Reporting
Prepare quarterly and ad hoc portfolio performance reports for internal stakeholders
Assist with post investment value creation initiatives and impact measurement where applicable
Stakeholder and Relationship Management
Maintain accurate and up to date deal and portfolio documentation
Act as a key point of contact for routine queries from investees, advisors, and internal stakeholders
Build effective working relationships with internal teams (legal, risk, finance) and external partners
Communication and Engagement
Draft clear, concise investment papers, presentations, and internal updates
Personal Effectiveness
Manage own tasks and deadlines effectively to support team objectives
Collaborate with colleagues and demonstrate adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrate strong attention to detail, accountability, and follow through
Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
This role requires a flexible and self-driven person, comfortable with ambiguity and with a very strong can-do attitude. A high level of integrity, maturity and confidentiality is required. The successful candidate should have very strong communication, presentation, numerical and analytical skills are needed.
Technical and Professional Skills
Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills
Solid understanding of corporate finance, investment structures, and risk analysis
Ability to analyse financial statements and assess business performance
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (advanced Excel preferred)
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Investment Management, or related field
Postgraduate qualification (Honours, CFA, or equivalent) advantageous
2-4 years' experience in investment analysis, private equity, corporate finance, development finance, or impact investing
Excellent command of the English language, both in communication ability and in drafting skills.
Excellent social skills, able to operate with diplomacy, tact and empathy.
A high degree of personal organisation and self-management.
