About the role

You will serve as a NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST INSPECTOR LEADER in the Nondestructive Test Operations Branch, Nondestructive Test Division of the Quality Assurance Office of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE: Implementing a wide array of highly sophisticated, quality control inspection/ Nondestructive Test techniques as well as utilizing many unique and specially designed precision instruments and gauges. Conducting Eddy current inspection using mathematics (algebra, geometry, and trigonometry), physics, and have understanding of the physical and chemical properties of the materials being inspected. Applying sophisticated software tools, operating systems, and computer hardware programming while evaluating acoustical, mechanical, and electrical signals that are frequently changing, non-stationary and nonlinear. Overseeing ultrasonic, magnetic particle testing, liquid penetrant testing, visual testing, radiographic or eddy current tube analysis inspections aboard nuclear and nonnuclear vessels. Interpreting and comprehending diagrams, blueprints, specifications, and interrelated procedure and technical requirements to meet critical job applications.
