About the role
As a Senior Test Analyst / Test Lead, you will drive quality engineering across mission-critical payments and banking platforms. You will create and maintain processes of the quality program and provide consulting for software development or operational processes, quality practices, audits and software measurement.
Responsibilities
- Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables
- Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan (Test Strategy/Test Plan)
- Develop, maintain and upgrade manual or automated test scripts, utilities, simulators, data sets and other programmatic test tools required to execute test plans
- Perform usability testing for total system performance, reliability, scalability and security
- Provide internal quality assurance
- Organise and maintain the test script library
- Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results
- Work closely with technical project managers, developers and other QA analysts to guarantee quality of delivery and ensure all outputs are aligned with key project success metrics
- Effectively communicate testing activities and findings in oral and written forms
- Control and manage own daily test activities
- Assist in the release process and with improving and automating the process
- Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members
- Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management
- Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements
- Isolate, replicate and report defects and verify defect fixes
Requirements
- Test/Defect Tool knowledge - Paysim(FINsim), Zephyr, GUI, SOAP, UI, Splunk, Bruno, JIRA
- Proven experience in the banking and payments sector
- Experience testing applications on Mainframe (inc. Reports)
- Knowledge of network financial message standards - AS2805 or ISO8583
- Transaction switching or payments testing experience (eftpos)
- Working knowledge of Connex HP, Data Navigator (DN), IPP/eftpos settlement services
- Understanding of integration technologies and application architectures
- Sound knowledge of methods, tools and technology used in software testing
- Experience with quality management methods, tools and technology used to create and support defect-free, application software that meets needs of client/business partner
- Sound experience with primary database engines with a demonstrated ability to write complex queries to be used for data validation and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated experience with functions, features and components of existing and planned operating systems and applications
- Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and teambuilding skills working with technical and non-technical individuals
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Self-starter with proven ability to
