Valley Medical Group, part of the Valley Health System in Paramus, New Jersey, is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our growing Behavioral Health program within the Medical Specialties Service Line. The role is primarily outpatient-focused with opportunities to participate in consult-liaison work in the Valley Hospital. The Psychiatrist will provide high-quality mental health care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of psychiatric disorders. Responsibilities include conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, monitoring patient progress and adjusting medications or therapies over time. The physician will collaborate with psychotherapists, primary care physicians, specialists, social workers and care coordinators to provide multidisciplinary psychiatric care to patients with comorbid medical and psychiatric conditions. Additional Responsibilities Participate in Graduate Medical Education (GME) activities Engage in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives Contribute to community outreach and mental health education programs Program Overview Our Behavioral Health program currently includes a multidisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, psychotherapists, and support staff. The role is a full-time clinical position with predominantly outpatient responsibilities with a portion of time devoted to hospital-based consult-liaison services.
