Scope of role The Linear Motion Division is a major contributor to the Automation & Controls Segment, with approximately 1,500 global associates and $400M in revenue. There are 9 main sites located across the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, & Europe. The Channel Manager is responsible for managing all of Linear Motion Division's indirect sales channel strategies and tactics, including multiple types of industrial distribution, catalog, and online channels. Major Responsibilities: Continuously refine set of existing distributors Rationalize distributor and representative population Identify and onboard new distributors and representatives to build business Owns Channel Development process Identify gaps in coverage by market and geography Identify new target channel partners to fill gaps Collaborate with sales team on attracting new distributors and representatives Develop Thomson and Nook value presentation to attract new channel partners Ongoing Distribution and Representative management Owns Mutual Marketing Plans process and Channel Partner Tool Kit Work with Training Manager to ensure channel partners are trained/certified Determine how best to use distribution and representative support budget for maximum impact in coordination with Marketing Communications and Regional Sales Directors Manage Key Partner status, marketing, rebates, FCPA Build positive working relationships with partners to ensure smooth partner services Develop and deploy programs for all sales channels Coordinate with Marketing Communications team to determine marketing promotional priorities, including trade shows Support alignment of pricing strategy and channel strategy Own and manage e-commerce channel including Terms and Conditions and pricing strategy Own membership in associations (e.g. AHTD) and be involved in committees, etc. where advantageous Required Education / Experience / Skills: The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with in-depth industry experience and a true passion to win. Candidate must have exceptional project management skills, a record of contributing to high performance teams and developing outstanding relationships with internal and external customers. A strong work ethic with proactive communication skills that encourage courageous conversations are a must. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technical Field, Marketing, Business Administration Minimum 5 years' experience in channel sales working for a manufacturer or distributor Demonstrated interpersonal/leadership/management skills - positive, proactive, professional, track record or influencing key decision makers Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to develop and present proposals to customers Computer proficient to include experience with CRM (Salesforce.com) and ERP (ORALCE, SAP, other) Extremely organized with strong attention to detail with and the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time with a strong sense of urgency Current ability to develop complex solutions to solve customer requirements Language: English required WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Expected salary: $90,000 - $110,000 annually. The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for all statewide locations across the United States. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.
