POST-DOCTORAL POSITION available in Dr. Dipanjan Chowdhury's laboratory at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, to study the molecular biology of DNA repair. A strong doctoral-level background in biochemistry, cell, or molecular biology is essential. Previous published expertise in bioinformatic/proteomics or animal models is preferred. Ph.D. is required. Primary Responsibilities: Research & Project Leadership Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments to study DNA damage response, genome maintenance, and related pathways in cancer models. Develop and refine hypotheses, experimental strategies, and project timelines in consultation with Dr. Chowdhury. Analyze, interpret, and integrate data from molecular, cellular, and genomic assays. Experimental Techniques Perform standard and advanced molecular biology and cell biology techniques (e.g., cloning, CRISPR-based gene editing, qPCR, Western blotting, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry). Culture and manipulate mammalian cell lines and/or primary cells; establish and characterize experimental models relevant to the lab's research focus. Utilize genomic and/or transcriptomic approaches (e.g., RNA-seq, DNA-seq, functional screens) as appropriate to project goals. Work with in vivo models (if applicable to the project), including planning and coordinating animal studies in collaboration with core facilities. Data Management & Dissemination Maintain accurate, detailed, and well-organized electronic lab notebooks and records. Prepare figures, presentations, and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Present research findings at internal lab meetings, institutional seminars, and national/international conferences. Collaboration & Mentorship Collaborate with other lab members, core facilities, and external collaborators to advance project aims. Provide informal mentorship and technical guidance to students, research assistants, and junior trainees in the lab. Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and intellectually rigorous lab culture. Grants & Career Development Contribute to the preparation of grant applications, progress reports, and related documents. Pursue opportunities for fellowships and career development awards, with mentorship from Dr. Chowdhury. Engage in professional development activities offered by Dana-Farber/Harvard Medical School (e.g., workshops, seminars, career panels). Pay Transparency Statement The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate's relevant experience, skills and qualifications. For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). $72,000.00 - $76,385.00
