Temporary part-time or full-time Research Scientists I, II, III or Senior positions may become available throughout the year with AgNext at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. These positions will focus on advancing the sustainability, productivity, and resilience of beef and/or dairy systems through independent and collaborative research. A PhD or DVM in a closely related field at the time of hire is re quired f or all levels. This open pool will close at 11:59 P M (MT) on June 30, 2026 . Essential Job Duties: Essential job duties vary, but may include: Conduct independent and collaborative research advancing the sustainability, productivity, and resilience of beef and/or dairy cattle systems. Design, implement, and manage applied research projects, including experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis across livestock systems. Translate scientific findings into systems-level insights and practical applications that support producer adoption and measurable impact. Provide in-field project management, organizational oversight, and supervision or mentoring of graduate students and research personnel. Engage with producers, industry partners, and stakeholders through outreach, communication, and knowledge-transfer activities. Contribute expertise across relevant focus areas (e.g., nutrition, grazing management, animal health, GHG measurement, genetics, epidemiology, economics, or data science) to support interdisciplinary research goals. Specific duties will be defined at the time of hire by the supervising faculty member. Conditions of Employment: Pre-employment criminal background check (required for new hires).
