Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about public service and financial compliance? The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a dedicated Federal Aid Administrator II to play a vital role in managing federal funds that support essential programs and services across the state. In this dynamic position, you'll be responsible for processing reimbursements, monitoring grants and contracts, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and government agencies, while contributing to meaningful work that directly impacts Nebraska communities. This role is ideal for someone with a background in accounting, grants management, or public administration who is ready to take their skills to the next level in a mission-driven environment. Job duties include, but are not limited to the following: Process payment reimbursements using E1 and OnBase systems Conduct fiscal testing and monitoring of subawards and contracts Prepare monthly and annual financial and programmatic reports Review and interpret federal and state policies and procedures to ensure compliance Provide technical assistance and guidance on financial processes and procedures Assist with the administration, renewal, and amendment of federal grants and payments Maintain accurate and organized financial and administrative records Serve as a liaison between internal teams, external stakeholders, and government officials Support audit preparation by compiling documentation and responding to audit requests Requirements/ Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or other appropriate curriculum, plus two years of significantly related work experience, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above requirements. Experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications: Accounting background or knowledge (some classes taken); previous experience with Subawards, Grants and Contracts including monitoring, doing payments in OnBase and experience with E1 System; experience interpreting Federal policies and State regulations; experience with Excel and reporting.
