About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced People Advisor to join Barnardo's People Team. The role will be hybrid, primarily working from home but with some travel required to services and meetings. Due to the nature of the role the ideal candidate will have significant experience as a People Advisor and will hold a full UK driving licence with access to their own vehicle or the ability to access public transport to travel as required. In this role you will work closely with the People Business Partner to provide HR support in a varied generalist role, and you will be responsible for providing proactive, professional, and business focused HR support to our operational leaders and managers. The successful candidate will work on a rotational basis initially working within the People Relations team and will provide the following on a day-to-day basis: Employee relations casework advice and guidance; including supporting disciplinary, grievance, performance management processes up to and including appeal level. Sickness absence management guidance Delivery of HR related training to managers Support to undertake people projects that are aligned to Barnardo's strategic priorities. They will then rotate/have the option to rotate on an annual basis to the Business Partnering team to carry out the change management element of the role. You will have previous experience in a similar role and / or a proven track record of operational HR and sound knowledge and understanding of UK employment law. You will have strong organisational and problem-solving skills, be solution focused and be able to foster strong and collaborative working relationships at all levels.
