Your Opportunity: One Permanent Full Time Position The HR Technology Lead is accountable for the operation, delivery, and ongoing improvement of Capital Power's People Systems (HCM). This role leads day-to-day system operations, the delivery of enhancements and projects, vendor management, and the direct leadership of Workday Specialists. The role ensures People Systems are reliable, scalable, and aligned with approved People & Culture priorities and governance, balancing operational stability with continuous improvement. The People Applications Lead partners closely with People & Culture, Business Applications, and external vendors to translate business needs into high-quality, sustainable system outcomes. You Will Contribute to Our Team By: People Systems Ownership Owning the health, performance, reliability, and sustainability of Capital Power's People Systems (HCM), supporting a complex, multi-application environment. Overseeing day-to-day operations, including incidents, enhancements, upgrades, releases, and configuration, in alignment with established Systems Delivery Life Cycle practices (testing, documentation, and change management). Ensuring compliance with enterprise standards for security, privacy, data integrity, auditability, and controls. Being accountable for the end-to-end lifecycle of Workday integrations, including architecture, enhancements, troubleshooting, and new development. Supporting internal and external audits by providing system documentation, integration evidence, and responses as required. Delivery & Project Leadership Leading delivery of People Systems projects and enhancements from intake through stabilization. Translating approved business and operational priorities into clear delivery plans, managing scope, risks, dependencies, and timelines. Overseeing testing, deployment, and post-implementation support to ensure high-quality, sustainable outcomes. People Leadership Leading, coaching, and performance-managing Workday Specialists, setting clear expectations for quality, outcomes, and service levels. Balancing team capacity across operations, enhancements, and project delivery. Building team capability through coaching, development, and exposure to increasingly complex work. Vendor & Partner Management Managing relationships with People Systems vendors, implementation partners, and managed service providers supporting Workday and ADP. Providing technical direction and prioritize work across vendor resources, ensuring quality delivery and alignment to business objectives. Monitoring vendor performance and proactively resolve issues to meet commitments. Intake, Prioritization & Governance Support Owning intake and initial assessment of People Systems requests. Providing impact analysis and delivery recommendations to governance forums. Ensuring delivery aligns with approved priorities, governance decisions, and available capacity. Partnership & Influence Partnering with People & Culture, Corporate Finance, Budgeting and Forecasting, IS, and external partners to ensure alignment. Acting as a trusted advisor on system capabilities, constraints, and trade-offs. Influencing outcomes through expertise and strong stakeholder relationships. What You Will Bring to the Role: Education & Experience Diploma or Degree in Computing Science, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems. 8+ years' experience in supporting enterprise applications, with significant experience in People/HCM platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, SuccessFactors). Proven experience leading application delivery and operations, including people leadership and accountability for team outcomes. Demonstrated experience managing vendors and third-party service providers. Experience operating within governed enterprise environments, including SOX/CSOX compliance, IT controls, and access management. Experience partnering with business stakeholders to translate needs into system solutions and delivery outcomes.
