We are searching for a qualified Manufacturing Engineering Manager . The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is a key member of the operations staff with responsibility for leading the Operations Manufacturing Engineering team through process improvement to advance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity within operations. This individual will play a critical role in transforming the methods by which we produce product to drive breakthrough quality performance and year over year productivity and cost improvements through VAVE. The role sits in Radford, VA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Makes resourcing decisions and assignments of Manufacturing Engineers to support production needs and to improve manufacturing processes. Responsible for establishing and maintaining career development paths in the Manufacturing Engineering team, while also providing individual talent development plans to maximize performance. Establishes scope, develops project plans and manages process improvements and manufacturing capability expansions. Builds Capital Expenditure project funnel, manages implementation of some capital projects. Provides technical leadership in the areas of motor and electronics design for manufacturability and manufacturing process development. Implements lean methods and variation reduction in existing processes. Develops Manufacturing Engineering team ABS knowledge and ability through mentorship and facilitation. Technical leader, responsible for measuring and improving team KPIs (Yield, Productivity, Scrap, OTD). Critical Competencies Strong problem-solving mindset and a demonstrated desire to drive to root cause for solutions. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field 5 years' experience in motor or electronics manufacturing processes or design Project management experience with manufacturing cell commissioning and/or process development. Experience working in a Lean Production environment using the following tools: 6-sigma, Single piece flow, Variation reduction, Standard work, Value stream mapping, 5s Must be available and willing to travel to support site transitions, benchmarking visits, or supplier development as needed This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
