OPEX Intern Mueller Water Products is the largest manufacturer of fire hydrants, butterfly valves and iron gate valves in the U.S. and Canada and offers the broadest product line of valves for residential water and gas systems. We are currently seeking candidates for its Operational Excellence Internship Program. During an internship assignment, interns will have an opportunity to present their projects and significant accomplishments to the leadership at the facility to highlight their work and abilities. The ideal Mueller Engineer Intern will work part time during the semester and could continue part time for additional semesters. All Engineering internships are paid positions at $20 per hour. Interns will be assigned to: - Studying assembly line processes and identifying areas for improved throughput, work line balancing, and standardizing processes. - Documenting processes using process flow mapping, standard work, and visual management techniques. - Revising documentation used in manufacturing processes and assist shop floor team leaders on a daily basis. - Analyzing data to facilitate improvements - Team with other process engineers to identify and develop the process and equipment needed to produce specific products, parts, and components.
