Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY: The incumbent plans and facilitates the effective coordination of the CFS program and its activities, according to the organization's standards and ministry guidelines. This role will organize and conduct annual Christmas Kettle Fundraising Campaign, special projects, and fundraisers to support program needs. ACCOUNTABILITIES: The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties. Program Coordination: Coordinate/organize/develop ongoing and seasonal programs and events such as the Christmas Program, Summer Program, drop-in programs, community kitchen, special events, etc. As directed, support pre-planned program activities for the community (food assistance, crafts, sports, games, music, homework stations, Bible-based devotions, community church, meetings, students support, etc.). Work with Director to ensure that programs (including program reviews, inspections and audits) meet contractual, legal and internal requirements. Administration and Finance: Maintain accurate records of client/program information on The Salvation Army's computer systems while maintaining confidentiality and providing statistical reports. Maintain accurate written records, logs of activities, including activity reports and statistical information. Receive, record, secure monetary and non-monetary donations; ensure appropriate information is available for the issuing of donation receipts and recognitions. Work in a team setting supporting various tasks and activities. Provide general assistance during public relations events and regular campaigns. Maintain strict confidentially of all matters pertaining to the program participants. Adhere to policies and procedures relating to the programs. May assist with different basic administrative tasks - photocopy activities, greeting visitors, supporting reception, forwarding visitors, etc. as required. May keep a log of different activities. Assist with the MU/facility general clean up and set up for different activities. Provide general information to visitors. Community Relations Network with Salvation Army, government, and community social services providers to coordinate resources for the benefit of clients and program. Represent The Salvation Army Community & Family Services within the community, as directed by the Director of Moncton CFS. Volunteer Coordination Provide direction and support to volunteers and ensure that they work together to achieve the purposes of the organization. Responsible to coordinate, review, and assign weekly workload for Community and Family Services volunteers and maintain required paperwork. Submit strategies and recommendations for volunteer development to Director. Monitor volunteer safety practices in compliance with health and safety standards, and prepare, submit and act on incident reports, under the authority of the Director, providing calming intervention, as required. Report any safety hazards, maintenance problems, equipment, or supply needs to the Director. WORKING CONDITIONS: - Working environment is typically in the CFS building in generally agreeable conditions and some outdoor duties. - Some work over weekends and evenings may be required. - Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. - May deal with upset people or challenging behaviours.
