The Finance Master Data team ensures the accuracy, consistency, and governance of critical master data associated with external and internal financial reporting by creating a single, trusted source of truth globally. We manage master data creation, changes, lifecycle management, data integration, cleansing, and standardization processes to improve data quality, accessibility, and decision making across systems and teams globally. What you'll do... The Walmart Finance Master Data Director of Data Stewardship (system implementations and transformation) will lead the team of Data Stewards who will be central to successful implementation of various master data governance processes and tools across markets independently or in conjunction with S4 Hana implementation. The team is responsible for understanding current processes, design and manage transition, quantify the need for data cleansing and transformation, plan for the data flow from upstream systems to downstream systems, and ensuring consistency in master data processes and usage across the enterprise. This team will work closely with other project teams including S4 Hana project teams to understand market specific requirements for master data and actively participate in implementation, testing, validation and hyper care activities. Responsibilities Include... Will be leveraging agentic AI and automation to incorporate efficiency and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Understand and align data governance and standard definitions across markets Data mapping and integration planning- Analyze legacy data and map it to the corresponding fields in the new systems/ processes. Develop strategy for integrating master data from multiple sources in to the new ERP or other defined processes Data cleansing and enrichment- Identify and eliminate duplicates, incorrect or outdated data in the legacy systems. Standardize and enhance incomplete or inconsistent data to meet new requirements to comply with governance requirements Data Migration- Organize and format master data for the smooth transfer in to the new process/ systems. Test and validate data migration processes to ensure data integrity and completeness during transfer to the new process/ systems Data quality management- Establish metrics to monitor the quality of master data continuously ensuring it meets the governance requirements post implementation. Identify and utilize appropriate tools to automate data reconciliation, cleansing and monitoring throughout the master data lifecycle. Stakeholder collaboration and training- Work closely with different teams within each market to understand their master data requirements and ensure the design meets their requirements. Provide training on the new processes, and educate them on the importance of maintaining data accuracy and governance Establish data maintenance plan- Set up procedure for regular updates and audits to maintain the quality and consistency of master data after transition. Assign clear ownership for ongoing data management and governance to ensure continuous data accuracy and integrity Testing and validation- Conduct end to end testing with actual master data to verify that all modules work seamlessly. Ensure that all master data is accurately reflected across all systems and there is a smooth data flow between various systems. Managing teams both onshore and offshore Navigate evolving regulatory landscape and Walmart's core privacy tenants to lead in the representation of digital citizenship as we go across the markets where Walmart operates You will sweep us off our feet if you... Have experience managing cross functional teams and overseeing data governance initiatives globally Extensive experience in master data management, including working on large scale master data implementation, migration and integration Experience working with various modules within SAP and understand the interconnectivity between master data, transactional data and meta data Experience in establishing data governance policies, procedures and best practices to ensure data quality, consistency and security Ability to create and enforce data ownership structures and data stewardship practices across the organization Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering data governance initiatives on time and within budget Strong
