The Department of the Secretary of State, Bureau of Corporations, Elections and Commissions is seeking an enthusiastic, talented and resourceful person for the anticipated vacancy of a Ballot & Voting Systems Program Manager (Public Service Coordinator 1) located in Augusta, ME. This position will manage the ballot creation and voting systems program for the Division of Elections. The hours of this position are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in office (not remote) and periodic overtime during peak election periods.

In this role, you will:
Oversee ballot design and layout for all paper and accessible ballot formats for all federal, state, and county candidate elections and statewide referenda.
Assist municipalities with employing best practices in local ballot design.
Develop and oversee pre-election testing for each election at both the state and municipal levels.
Coordinate the maintenance of all voting-related equipment and work with municipalities on equipment security and proper use, storage and maintenance.
Assist with special projects, including new equipment rollouts. Work with selected vendor partners to develop implementation plans for new equipment deployments including appropriate asset tracking of all units.
Assist with the procurement, deployment and maintenance for the voting tabulation systems and accessible ballot marking devices as well as absentee ballot drop boxes and ballot security storage containers.
Collaborate with the Program Manager of Election Audits and Training to assess the training needs of individual election officials and municipalities on the use of voting systems and equipment.
Develop manuals, brochures, pamphlets, and informational materials to inform and educate municipal officials and members of the public regarding the use of voting systems and equipment.
To be successful you will need:
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations governing elections and voter registration; including, but not limited to the Maine Constitution, Title 21-A, Title 30-A, the National Voter Registration
