Working in the HKEX Sustainability Division, the role is crucial in driving the integration of sustainability considerations into financial markets, promoting responsible investing and supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy, overseeing variety of corporate responsibility and philanthropy initiatives as well as developing and conveying HKEX's sustainability narratives to all stakeholders, enhancing HKEX's leadership and reputation in sustainability In particular, the role will also have additional focuses on contributing to the development, nurturing, and advocacy of Core Climate (our proprietary carbon marketplace) along with firm-wide ESG products which can be leveraged to shape and integrate exciting global trends in decarbonization for our future. Job Duties: Our ideal team member will be a proactive individual with the knowledge and confidence to handle and drive operational tasks as below. Business Development Support new initiatives and business development of the HKEX's Sustainability strategy, with strong focuses on collaborative opportunities with the Greater Bay Area and other parts of Mainland China. Provide insights and advice on the latest trends and evolution of relevant regulations both regionally and internationally on Carbon and ESG product and their impacts on existing business models and development. Facilitate the development and implementation of corporate responsibility and philanthropy initiatives in conjunction with existing Carbon and ESG business models and developments. Governance Facilitate compliance with HKEX's sustainability governance and ensure effectiveness in achieving sustainability goals throughout our business development and strategies. Lead and assess the effectiveness and efficiencies on various market / industry forums and committees with ongoing assessment on the alignment to evolving business developments and strategies. Review a wide range of contracts covering the engagement of vendors, IT contracts, regulatory cooperation and other aspects relating to specifically Core Climate platform and other divisional initiatives. Lead and monitor compliance with policies and procedures, track and facilitate remediation of divisional risk and audit issues and facilitate communication flow between first and second/third line functions. Daily Operations Contribute to the decision-making process both within and across divisions through providing value-add financial analysis, emerging trends analysis, resource planning, client analytics - and making recommendations to senior management. Assist department and senior management on operational, legal and regulatory issues (with collaboration with legal and secretarial service division) arising from the day-to-day operation and also focus on HKEX's Core Climate platform.
