About the Position: Responsible for full scope of managing the resources allocated to the Survey section, which includes planning for adequate personnel, effective use of personnel and equipment, managing architect-engineer contractors, determining methods for accomplishment of work, coordinating with other divisions and private surveyors, and rendering decisions on all phases involving the application or determination of surveying concepts and procedures. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Applying advanced knowledge of cartography, hydrographic and land surveying to support engineering planning and analysis for water-resource related projects. Utilizing existing surveying and mapping software and technology and evaluating and applying advances in surveying practices. Supervising and managing activities of multiple survey crews and contractors to ensure work is executed properly and meets standards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Planning and Evaluating Surveying Technology Application Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
