ACAP is seeking several dedicated sessional Social Work Educators who are passionate about their field and excited to teach the next generation of professionals. Opportunities are available at both our Sydney and Melbourne Campuses. We are seeking experts in one or more of the following subject matters; Community work, social action, public policy Groupwork, family work Ageing, Disability and Complex Care Work with First Nations People Trauma Informed practice Research methods Additional knowledge areas: Sociology Law and ethics Mental health Sessional work involves; Teaching classes: All of our classes are three hour interactive workshops, the great majority of which are taught in person on campus. Marking assignments and performing administrative tasks associated with the classes Responding to student enquiries and providing advice as required Teaching from one of our campuses (Sydney or Melbourne). Full time or part time for a specific period, 13 weeks per trimester, with the opportunity in exceptional circumstances, to assume the role of Unit Coordinator The candidates we seek will ideally have; Experience or a keen interest in working in a tertiary education institution Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships at all levels across the College Excellent scholarly and Social Work industry expertise Passion and motivation to empower students and the next generation of Social Workers Essential criteria for candidates include; A Social Work qualification - Masters level preferred Membership or eligibility for membership of the AASW Extensive experience as a practicing Social Worker ACAP focuses on shared values and strengths across our teams, you will work together with others committed to transforming lives through education in a purpose-driven, engaging, and supportive team environment.
