DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform a range of therapeutic massage services with skill and professionalism. Customize each treatment to guest needs following a pre-service consultation while respecting contraindications. Deliver each experience in line with Forbes 5-Star spa standards, ensuring an atmosphere of calm, comfort, and refinement. Prepare and reset treatment rooms with attention to cleanliness, ambiance, and guest preferences. Recommend follow-up care and wellness products suited to each guest's needs. Maintain a professional, polished appearance consistent with Charleston's luxury service expectations. Comply with all state licensure requirements, sanitation guidelines, and hotel health and safety protocols. Contribute to a positive and collaborative spa environment, supporting team goals and shared responsibilities. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Valid South Carolina Massage Therapy License (SC LMT). Minimum of 2 years of hands-on massage experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or destination spa. Warm, welcoming demeanor with exceptional guest service skills and discretion. Knowledge of anatomy, pressure points, and therapeutic techniques. Comfortable working in a high-profile setting with VIP guests and local clientele. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a colleague to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Ability to perform 4-6 treatments per shift, including deep tissue or advanced modalities. Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and perform repetitive motions throughout the day. Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs (linens, massage tables, equipment) and setting up treatment spaces. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure. Good hearing is necessary for effective communication with colleagues, guests, and stakeholders. Available to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
