Based on an HR Best Practices Survey, the Top Employers Institute puts organizations around the world under close scrutiny in the areas of Business & People Strategy, Leadership and Employee Wellbeing, among others Position Overview Reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, our future Materials Planner will have as missions to : Translate demand into material requirements (MRP) Ensure alignment between supply plans and production plans Monitor stock levels (raw materials, components, spare parts) Maintain optimal inventory (avoid shortages or excess stock) Set and manage safety stock levels and reorder points Track inventory accuracy and cycle counts Communicate material requirements to suppliers Track supplier performance (lead time, quality, reliability) Resolve delivery delays or shortages Support sourcing and supplier improvement initiatives Ensure materials are available for production lines Coordinate with production planners and manufacturing teams Manage material shortages and expedite urgent requests Avoid production downtime due to missing materials Analyze inventory trends, usage, and forecasting accuracy Generate reports (stock levels, shortages, excess inventory) Identify cost-saving opportunities (reduce waste, optimize stock) Identify risks such as supply disruptions or demand fluctuations Develop contingency plans (alternate suppliers, safety stock) Manage obsolete or slow-moving materials Lead root cause analysis for shortages or excess stock Improve planning processes and inventory accuracy Optimize lead times and ordering strategies Participate in lean / supply chain improvement projects Enhance system data accuracy (BOMs, lead times, parameters) Key Skills and Qualifications Engineer or master's degree in supply chain management, Production, Industrial Engineering or related field 2 to 4 years or experience as Material Planner, PC&L or equivalent imperatively in Automotive industry Experience working with: Bill of Materials (BOM) Production Orders / Job Orders Material Requirement Planning (MRP) Experience using ERP systems (preferably Infor ERP or similar systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc.) Proficient in MS Excel (basic formulas, tracking sheets, data handling) Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications Analytical thinking & planning Strong Excel / ERP knowledge Communication & coordination Problem-solving mindset Attention to detail Team Player
