Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as Registered Nurse in good standing
BScN preferred
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support
Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Completion of Critical Care Certificate
Level 3 Critical Care experience
Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community
Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgment
Ability to perform the essential duties of the position

Job Description:
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Manager of Coronary Care Unit (CCU), the successful candidate(s) will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary family centered care environment. The CCU employs an interdisciplinary team approach to patient care utilizing the skills of physicians, specialized critical care nurses and a number of other professionals including registered respiratory therapists, dietitians, social workers and chaplains support this program. SHN CCU also has access to consultation with a clinical bioethicist. Trained staff participates in the hospital Code Response Team.
