The Fire Sprinkler Project Manager holds overall management responsibility for all aspects of fire protection construction projects from conception through systems functioning. This role will oversee or conduct design, scheduling, planning, actual construction, expediting, inspection, quality control, and total delivery of the project according to established criteria. Responsible for tracking, forecasting, and communicating all costs, profits, and financial measures of the project. Through coordination with the site superintendent, they will organize and manage all the elements involved in construction such as labor, temporary and permanent materials, equipment, supplies, utilities, and time. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: System Design & layout: Create CAD design drawings and perform hydraulic calculations. Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and apply Texas Department of Insurance (.gov) rules, NFPA, IFC, IBC, and local codes. Project Oversight: Review shop drawings, coordinate material lists, manage project costs, and meet delivery deadlines. Field Supervision: Supervise field installations, oversee system testing, and sign off on contractor's material and test certificates. Team Leadership: Mentor junior sprinkler designers and coordinate with contractors and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). Material buyout and product selection Scheduling and labor coordination with both office and field personnel alike Document control, contract scope review and maintain records of the project for both current and future use Communicate and attend weekly design and project management meetings Cost management, including identifying changes to the project scope that impact costs as well as ensure change orders and billings are submitted and paid in a timely manner Assist with development, suitability and implementation of Risk Hazard Analyses Conduct site surveys, onsite commissioning and owners training Foster strong working relationships and rapport with customers, clients, subcontractors and colleagues Other duties as assigned Education & Qualifications: Must hold an active Texas RME-General license issued by the State Fire Marshal's Office. NICET Level III or IV certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology / Automatic Sprinkler System Layout preferred. Strong expertise in AutoCAD and specialized layout software like HydraCAD, AutoSprink, and AutoCAD preferred.
