Responsibilities

  • Practice exceptional medicine within knownwell
  • Sees adults for metabolic health services as is appropriate in a virtual setting. This may include sharing a panel with MD/DO + other APCs.

  • Offer exceptional encouragement as patients reach their goals.
  • Coordinate across the collaborative care team
  • Escalate any concerns to your dedicated site leadership team.
  • Provide clinical guidance to medical assistants and nursing teams as assigned.
  • Stay current with licensure and appropriate re-certifications.

Requirements

  • Preferred Master's degree (MSN) and certification by one of the Nurse Practitioner certifying bodies (ANCC or AANPCB)) as a family nurse practitioner, with 10+ state licensure and willingness to obtain additional as needed
  • Alternatively - Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies certification by the Physician Assistant certifying body (NCCPA), with 10+ state licensure and willingness to obtain additional as needed
  • Unrestricted DEA licensure and prescribe authority (per state practice regulation).
  • You have active, unrestricted licenses to practice in 5+ states, and a willingness to obtain additional as needed by the organization. Preferred states include CA, TX, FL, NY, PA, IL, OH, GA, NC, MI
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You're dedicated to staying current with the latest developments in primary care and obesity medicine.
  • You believe in inclusive, compassionate care.
  • You believe in shared decision making with a patient. You honor the goals a patient has for their health, and you partner with them to help them achieve those goals.
  • You have high emotional intelligence and know how to make a patient feel at ease - without judgment and without shame.
  • You're willing and excited to try new technologies that are both patient and provider oriented.
  • You are excited to work with a collaborative team of physicians, APC's, registered dietitians, medical assistants, health coaches, and other staff.

As a Fully Remote Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) at knownwell, you will work alongside a team of committed physicians, APC, registered dietitians, registered nurses, and registered pharmacists, to provide comprehensive medical care, with a specific focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of obesity and obesity related conditions as appropriate in a virtual primary care setting. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of patients by helping them improve their overall health. Schedule : Monday-Friday with flexible scheduling (32 patient contact hours minimum + 8hrs of administrative time). Fully Remote. No scheduled evening/weekend responsibilities outside of phone On-Call On-Call : Phone call only, in a rotation every 7-8 weeks for one (1) week at a time.
