Responsibilities
- The Denver Clerk and Recorder is looking for a Campaign Finance and Lobbying Specialist.
- Campaign Finance and Fair Elections Fund Administration
- Lead review of qualifying contributions and supporting documentation for Fair Elections Fund candidates to ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Conduct audits and compliance reviews of campaign finance reports, including identifying deficiencies, documenting findings, and preparing draft materials for review.
- Serve as a public-facing resource for candidates, committees, and the public by providing clear, neutral technical assistance and training.
- Lobbying Disclosure Support and Program Implementation
- Provide guidance to lobbyists and the public regarding lobbying disclosure requirements and use of Denver's reporting systems.
- Lead the implementation of changes to the lobbying program resulting from new legislation, rulemaking, or system updates.
- Assist with developing and updating procedures, workflows, and guidance materials related to lobbying disclosure.
- Provide support for ethics filings for elected and appointed officials as needed.
- Systems Operations and Process Improvement
- Support the operation and improvement of campaign finance and lobbying disclosure systems, including user support and trainings for filers and internal staff.
- Document processes, workflows, and operational practices to promote consistency, transparency, and audit readiness.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, and customer service across programs and communicate recommendations to program leadership.
Requirements
