Requirements

  • A. Education & Training:
  • High School graduate or GED equivalent. Completion of a vocational training
  • program as a Paramedic.
  • B. Experience:
  • Six (6) months experience.
  • C. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:
  • Current Georgia Paramedic certification. Valid Georgia driver's license. Current
  • AHA/ARC BLS certification. Current AHA ACLS/ARC ALS certification.
  • AHA/ARC PALS certification or within 9 months of hire. CPT training within 9
  • months of hire. FAST-ED stroke scale or obtained within three (3) months of
  • hire.
  • D. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Have the physical ability to perform the job as determined by a physical agility
  • performance evaluation. Have the ability to communicate both orally and in
  • writing in English and to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees,
  • volunteers and management. Be able to effectively perform prolonged work under
  • adverse emergency conditions involving physical and mental stress. Be able to
  • think clearly and use independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations,
  • which may occur. Be able to utilize diagnostic equipment as well as patient care
  • equipment. Be able to utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves,
  • gown, mask, etc.
