About the role
The Supervisor, Cleaning Department, is responsible for supervising the activities of the cleaning staff to ensure cleanliness and order in laboratories, clinics, dormitories and offices. He/she evaluates and recommends cleaning supplies and equipment, and conducts periodic inventories. What You'll Do Here Coordinates the work activities of the cleaning staff within the department. Evaluates clinic occupation schedules to provide an adequate number of cleaners to ensure cleanliness of facilities. Identifies appropriate tasks and shifts for different operational areas of the company. Through an internal support system, responds, plans and implements corrective measures and actions to ensure rapid response and internal customer satisfaction. Organizes orientation and on-the-job training sessions to explain work policies and procedures, and to demonstrate the use and maintenance of equipment. Makes recommendations where necessary. Verifies accuracy of staff weekly timesheets and submits on time for approval. Responsible for communicating high-level instructions, complaints from immediate supervisor and site management to cleaning crew. Responsible for hiring cleaners when necessary. If necessary, replaces absent housekeeping staff. What You'll Need to Succeed High school diploma and/or cleaning school training. Minimum 6 months experience as a cleaner. Minimum 6 months experience in team management. Bilingualism (English and French, oral and written). Effective communication skills, able to interact pleasantly with staff at all levels. Must be able to work flexible hours. Driver's license required (for travel between our Montreal and Laval sites).
