The Chemical Engineering Summer Intern will support the Global Engineering organization in the development, execution, and continuous improvement of capital projects and engineering initiatives across Cabot. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, and operations personnel to gain hands-on exposure to project engineering, project development and project management. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to real engineering projects while developing technical, analytical, and professional skills in a collaborative and fast-paced organization. Job Requirements (Principal Responsibilities) - Support project engineering activities related to capital projects, optimization measures, and execution improvement initiatives. - Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting for engineering studies and operational performance reviews. - Participate in process calculations, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing reviews, and technical evaluations. - Support development and review of engineering documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, specifications, and technical reports. - Collaborate with project managers, operations, maintenance, procurement, and EHS teams on project activities and technical problem-solving. - Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, quality, sustainability, and competitiveness. - Assist with project tracking, schedule updates, and preparation of presentations for engineering and leadership meetings. - Conduct research on engineering best practices. - Participate in site visits, contractor coordination activities, and engineering field reviews as applicable. - Maintain compliance with company safety standards, engineering procedures, and corporate policies.
