Responsibilities

  • Manage agency partners and communications budgets supporting US brand communications initiatives.
  • Position includes approximately 20% domestic and international travel.

Requirements

  • Experienced communications strategist with a minimum of 12 years of experience in biopharmaceutical communications and at least three years of experience in US brand/product communications, preferably in oncology.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex science or business concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic communications programs that support product or brand objectives.
  • Strong understanding of the US healthcare and biopharmaceutical landscape, including regulatory and policy considerations.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools, web, and social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of and interest in maximizing communications through generative AI tools.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary The Director, US Communications will support the development and execution of strategic product and portfolio communications initiatives to advance Genmab's reputation and visibility across the United States. This role will lead communications strategy and execution for the oncology portfolio, including key brand initiations in the US, employee engagement, thought leadership, and media relations, working in close partnership with brand leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure effective and aligned communications that support and advance business priorities. In addition to brand communications leadership, the Director will contribute to broader US communications initiatives that strengthen Genmab's visibility, reputation, and engagement with internal and external audiences. This role will collaborate closely with both the US Commercialization and Communications & Corporate Affairs functions to ensure consistent messaging and effective pull-through of enterprise priorities in the US market. The position will report to the Head of US Communications. Work arrangement: This role offers flexibility to work away from the office for 20%-40% of a typical schedule. Employees may use this work schedule in increments of single days or multiple consecutive days, provided it does not exceed 40% within a 60-day period, and is approved by the hiring manager and will be based in the Genmab offices in Princeton, New Jersey.
